Rebecca Perkins has been selected as one of New Jersey’s 2009 “50 Best Women in Business” by NJBiz magazine.  A recognition event was held in April at The Palace in Somerset, New Jersey.

The Perkins Partnership hosted a breakfast and panel discussion entitled “What to Do When the Checkbook is Empty,” focusing on building relationships and fundraising for nonprofits in today’s economy.  Rebecca Perkins moderated a panel that featured Ann Isom, Senior Director, US Philanthropy and Relationship Manager, sanofi-aventis; Jerry McCathern, Senior Director of Development, Hyacinth AIDS Foundation; Cory Storch, Executive Director, Bridgeway Rehabilitation Services; and Madeline Kouvaras, Development Manager for the Institute for Ethical Leadership, Rutgers Business School, Newark and New Brunswick.

The Council on State Public Affairs hosted a conference in February entitled “Funding New Jersey’s Future: Crafting Sound Economic Policy in a Fiscal Crisis.” Panelists included New Jersey Treasurer David Rousseau; Assemblyman Louis Greenwald; Debra L Wentz, Executive Director of the New Jersey Association for Mental Health Agencies; Cornell Brooks, Executive Director of the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice; Henry A. Coleman, Ph. D., Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; and Oliver Cooke, Ph.D., Stockton College.
